Ivory needs your help
Meet Ivory…
Ivory is a deaf and blind 2 year old, female Sheltie. She was born with a birth defect which caused her eyelids to grow over her eyes. She was surrendered to the Owen Sound Animal Shelter, where she’ll receive much needed attention from the vet! (she has never been vetted).
What can you do to help?
If you’ve ever felt the urge to donate, now is the time. Ivory definitely needs some medical care for her eyes, and since she’s never seen a vet, they could be in for some surprises. Head over to OSAS’s website, and use the “Make a Donation” button underneath Ivory’s photo.
If you know someone who would be patient enough, and willing to provide the perfect home for this lovely girl, send them here, or to the Shelter’s website.
In her blog, Renee Robins describes the perfect home for Ivory:
A home for her will need to be patient, and ideally someone who will need to be home to watch her for some time (darkness and new surroundings are dangerous). She is sensitive to touch, so older children only (otherwise, that’s just mean) and Ivory is good only with cats and dogs that like dogs (same reason).
Send your kind thoughts…
Being both deaf and blind isn’t easy for a dog. She was used to the layout of her old home, and will have trouble adjusting to her new life, wherever it may lead her. Send your kind thoughts her way, she’ll need all the love and support you can muster!
